Vineyard

The «Sitenrain» organic vineyard is still young – the planting of about 8000 vines on 1.5 hectares began in 2006. This has breathed new life into this unique place: The vineyard area has expanded to 3.5 hectares, and meanwhile, a colourful vegetable garden adorns the landscape, sheep graze between the vines and the Sitenrain turns into a meeting place for wine and culture lovers with many, various events.

Great Grape Culture

We exclusively cultivate fungus-resistant grape varieties on 3.5 hectares. These are recent crossbreeds of European vines and fungus-resistant, wild American vines. We grow the white varieties Solaris and Souvignier Gris as well as the red varieties Maréchal Foch and Cabernet Cortis. This choice of varieties allows us to work according to organic standards. This means we grow our vines without using chemicals and with little soil pollution.

The Perfect Location

Our vineyards are situated just outside of Lucerne in the town of Meggen. The largest part is on the Sitenrain itself, with just a small plot closer to Lake Lucerne.
Next to the vineyards we have a big vegetable garden. As with the vineyards, we work organically and plant various old and new vegetables, herbs and flowers. We like to share the excess crop with you!
